Every weekday Monday-Friday our team posts political posts about what is affecting the youth of Canada presently. We reply to every comment and we make an effort to answer every DM that comes our way.

Hello, welcome to the Canadian Youth Letters Project [CYLP] website! This initiative was created because we in the Canadian Youth Letters Project feel that the youth of Canada need a political voice. We post about political topics and issues that affect the teens of Canada. We hope we can educate Canadian youth on political issues and topics affecting Canadians . Our goals are to open communication between the general population and the Government, and get more teens involved in politics.

Why Are We Called the Letters Project?

We are called the Canadian Youth Letters Project because of our goal to create a conduit with the Government in order to provide them with an awareness of what Canadian youth need from their government representatives. We also want to allow youth to express their political views and concerns in a safe space where their opinions are heard and valued. The main way we've planned to achieve this is through writing letters and emails to our government representatives about the concerns of Canadian youth. If you are interested in writing a letter to someone in the government, let us know and we will provide you with support. We love to hear about the successes of youth involved in politics!
What We Are Doing

Our project takes political concerns very seriously. We allow our youth to express their revolutionary ideas and political concerns by having them write unbiased and factual articles from various trustworthy news medias and publishing these articles in our instagram account and newsletter. We embrace perspectives and ideas from all over the political spectrum.

In addition, every couple of months our team writes letters to the government to collectively express our concerns and ideas in hopes of creating an open conduit between our project and the government. We allow open communication to youth outside of our members who wish to share their concerns, making sure that every voice is heard.

Marketing and promotion for our initiative requires resources and our team works hard to hold fundraisers to raise money for our cause.
What We Plan To Do

CYLP plans to do much more for our communities once we get more publicity and become better established within Canadian political society.

Since CYLP is a project that supports youth all across Canada, we plan on volunteering for charities supporting youth centers, children's hospitals and more.

We plan on continuing to write letters to the government until we achieve our goal of getting an open conduit as well as gathering support from politicians and others who are willing to help us. We will not stop until we have reached youth all across Canada and given them a voice. We care about healthcare, education, environment, the LGBTQ+ community and everything else that affects our youth today. Not only do we want to engage youth in politics and give them a voice, we want to protect them from society's harmful impact on identity and choices and provide youth with a safe place to properly evolve into the future of our country.

Sarah
(she/her)
Hi! My name is Sarah and I’m 17 years old.
I joined the Canadian Youth Letters Project because I want to be more involved in the things going on in Canada, and to be able to spread awareness about topics I feel strongly about!
My favourite seasons are summer and autumn, because of the sunshine and fall-coloured trees! I hope to be a social worker or rehabilitation worker when I'm older.
Sydney
(she/her)
Heyo, my name is Sydney, a seventeen-year-old Canadian who is part of the Canadian Youth Letters Project (CYLP). I joined this project because, before this, I had barely any idea what was going on politically in Canadian, and frankly, just didn’t care. But being involved in the CYLP has helped me to develop a stance in politics as well as voice my opinion on issues that need to be and should be discussed. I’m passionate about the arts and the sciences with hope that one day I might be either a biologist, neuroscientist, or a published author (it’s a strange spectrum; I’m indecisive). Currently, I can be found in my room writing, reading, playing an instrument, or outside biking and/or skateboarding. I know wide-spread issues and televised politics can be intimidating, but trust me, it’s always good to be a little bit loud.
Danica
(she/they)
Hola! My name is Danica, I am 16 years old, my pronouns are she/they and I am a member of the Canadian Youth Letters Project. I am a multi-racial, second-generation Canadian from a single-parent family. I enjoy reading, music, science, being in nature, and playing sports - especially hockey. I am a part of the CYLP because I believe that Canadian youth deserve a voice in how our country is run and that we are capable of forming and defending our values and opinions. Canada is a wonderful country, and we are its future. I am excited to see what we can do as a collective to improve our beloved country! Que tengas un buen dia! Have a great day!
Cassidy
(she/her)
Hi, my name is Cassidy! I am currently a 17-year-old Canadian girl and a member of the CYLP. A couple of my favourite past times include fencing - or anything sword fighting really; reading - mostly fantasy, coming of age, teen, and horror; watching tv shows; and writing. I joined this initiative to help encourage youth to become involved in politics while also giving a voice to those who cannot always speak for themselves. I am very into politics and I just hope to use a platform to raise awareness to issues in Canada that needs to be recognized and noticed and I appreciate being able to be a part of this project!
Aliyah
(she/they)
Hi, friends! My name is Aliyah and I’m a 19-year-old Ontarian who loves plants, thrifting, art and volunteering. Music is pretty great, too, and I’m currently fixated on Mitski new's album and girl in red. I’m working towards a career in veterinary medicine with the dream of opening my own practice and animal shelter one day, while also continuing to volunteer on a regular basis!
My goal in life is to be the change I wish to see in the world. There are many injustices present in our world and unfortunately, more will continue to develop. Admittedly, I was a timid child who dealt with selective mutism and wasn’t able to advocate for myself during my struggles. It took years of personal development, but with help from those I met - both good and bad - I managed to become the powerful human being I am today. I know not everyone has the voice or the platforms to project their concerns for our country, and this - in combination with my love for humankind - is why I joined CYLP.
Fun facts: I own a $300 brain model and over 20 plants. Ask me about them!
